Intravenous sedation
For our anxious patients we try to help you to relax and to gain control when having treatment done. If you are extremely nervous and need some help relaxing, Conscious sedation can be done using intravenous Midazolam. It is a technique to reduce your anxiety about dental treatment whilst keeping you conscious at all times. The drug is delivered into a vein using a special device and the Midazolam is slowly administered. As this happens you will slowly begin to feel more relaxed and sleepy. Midazolam is a modern relative of Valium. It has been used successfully since 1986 and is the drug of choice for Dental Sedation.
